Lion Sid Scruggs III with Jimmy Ross, past president of the International Association of Lions Clubs, during the international leader's visit to the 2006 North Carolina Lions State Convention in Greenville. Ross and Scruggs visited the Industries for the Blind in Raleigh and watched golfers participate in the annual Lion's golf tournament in Greenville.

During his term as president, Lee visited the 2004 North Carolina Lions State Convention in Fayetteville. The trip included a round of golf at the Pinehurst Country Club, site of the 2005 U.S. Open Golf Tournament.

Past International President Tae-Sup Lee returned to North Carolina in 2005 for the chartering of North Carolina's first all-Korean Lions club. Dr. Lee and Sid Scruggs III presided over the club's charter night in Fayetteville.

Lion Sid Scruggs III and his wife, Lion Judy Scruggs, organized a vision screening and eye glasses distribution program in Mexico. The program was part of a youth group mission trip organized through their son's, Pastor Kevin Scruggs' church. More than 300 people were seen and over 400 pairs of recycled eyeglasses were distributed

Lion Sid Scruggs III with Jim Ervin, past president of the International Association of Lions Clubs. The two Lions enjoyed a day of racing around Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord. The speedway is home to the World 600. Ervin was in North Carolina to attend a convention in District 31-C. The two international leaders also participated in a town hall meeting, answering Lions' question concerning the international association.

 

 

 

 

Lion Sid Scruggs III, along with Lion Lacy Presnell, past international director, met with members of a Lions International committee looking at Raleigh as a possible host city for the USA/Canada Forum. The meeting took place at the Governor's Manson in Raleigh.
